This webinar is for LEA leadership and staff responsible for overseeing data collection and service provision for students with disabilities. LEA administrators and data administrators are highly encouraged to participated.
This webinar will discuss how improvements in special education data quality in SEDS can lead to enhanced student outcomes. Specific areas to be addressed include data quality for nonpublic placements, Extended School Year (ESY) services, transfer of student records, consent for initial provision of services, absenteeism, evaluation timelines, and related service provider management.
Additionally, this webinar will provide participants with tools to help support them as they (a) develop a structure for effectively communicating with their teams, (b) establish guidelines for school-based training, and (c) develop and monitor systems that will ensure timeliness of IEPs, initial evaluations, and re-evaluations. Participants will be introduced to a checklist that will help them to assess where they are in terms of their special education programming. After this quick introduction, participants will be guided through a process using questions from the checklist on how to incorporate processes and procedures that will result in timely IEPs, initial evaluations, and re-evaluations.
