The School Garden Seasonal Training Series provides hands-on learning of seasonal-specific technical skills that school garden staff and volunteers can apply immediately to improve the effectiveness of their program.
The next training in this series will focus on understanding best practices, identifying your program’s strengths and weaknesses, and developing a plan to implement these best practices to improve your school garden program.
Participants will take part in a simulation exercise that will provide an opportunity to better understand best practices. This exercise will also generate questions, new ideas, and hopefully inspiration around your school garden program that will be discussed. Lastly, participants will reflect on their own garden program by prioritizing improvement areas and setting goals.
This training requires active participation, an open mind, and willingness to put a critical eye to your garden program. Participants will leave this training with a clear understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of their school garden program and clarity on how to improve their program moving forward. Our goal is to also have fun, so please come ready for this too.
Participants will receive PLU credits.
