Common Core State Standards Summer Institute
The Office of the State Superintendent of Education, Division of Assessment and Accountability is excited to offer a two-day Common Core State Standards Summer Institute!
Who: D.C. Special Education teachers
What: In School Year 2014-2015 DC CAS Alt students will shift to an online Alternate State Assessment aligned to Common Core State Standards (CCSS). To aid educators in the transition the Summer Institute will provide all participating teachers of students with significant cognitive disabilities with CCSS Instructional Binders and professional development sessions that are designed to empower teachers to effectively use these binders in their daily instruction.
Additional featured sessions include:
- Transitioning to Online Assessments
- Standards Based IEP Goal Writing
- Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
- Teaching Composition (DC CAS Alt)
When: August 6th and 7th, 8:15 am-4:00pm
Participants must attend all sessions to receive a teacher stipend and 8 Professional Learning Units.
